Goodreads asked Avery Kilpatrick:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Avery Kilpatrick Don't give up. That's probably said a lot, but it's true. I wrote my first novel when I was thirteen and, though, now I look back at it and cringe it was still a stepping stone of achieving my dream. I may be twenty-four and publishing for the first time when I thought I could publish a lot younger. I've learned a lot over the years and I kept writing and improving my craft.

Think of writing as a muscle that needs to be used daily otherwise it becomes weak or rusty from lack of use. Write everyday, even if it's only a 100 words. Look at writing prompts and get the creative juices flowing.

And dream. Always dream and never give in to doubt.
