Definitely. It's written like an R. L. Stine YA novel from the 90's. It's grotesque and freaky.

Mature young adults (16-17) would probably be ok with it. It's more of a horror story, so if they are ok with Stephen King, they will likely be ok with this one as well. It's a little gory.
