Goodreads asked Judith Diana Winston:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Judith Diana Winston I'm fortunate in that I rarely get writer's block. If I do, I know I'm "pushing" - forcing myself to go someplace I'm not really prepared to go in that moment. I immediately close the computer and walk away. Invariable this signals that part of me that loves to create that it is safe - that I will not abuse it. Eventually - or usually sooner than that :) I find all kinds of ideas arising of their own accord. Then it is time to go back and put those ideas on paper or into the computer. I enjoy writing too much to make it a chore!
