I'm about half way through the book and one thing is driving me crazy who is Jeanne Ann McCullough's father? One of Peter's sons? It's not supposed to be a secret. I just want to keep the family tree straight in my head.

Ted The paperback version has a family tree in it, which helps keeps things straight. Jeanne Anne's father is Charles, one of Peter's children (the one who's diary we are reading, as well). So we are primarily reading about Jeanne Anne, her grandfather (Peter), and her great-grandfather (Eli).
