Aaron Mauchley Societal bullying, some comments and potential consequences from situations in the book could be perceived as abusive according to our day (but not so much according to the timeframe for the story), fighting and violence (but not graphic), abandonment, some profanity, a couple of sexist situations between male vs. female but the situations are meant to teach equality and capabilities not degrade. Alcohol usage and being drunk. Medicinal drug usage and poisons, some parents may be concerned about, so just pointing it out.
