Goodreads asked Tracy Carol Taylor:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Tracy Carol Taylor Learn to take criticism.
People are all different and what they see will be different from what you see. They may also help you to find mistakes in your work that you didn't even notice.
Learn to keep writing even if no one else thinks you can write.
Walt Disney was fired for being a poor artist. Imagine that.
but he practiced and didn't quit. if writing makes you happy keep at it no matter what.
Also, and most important, never pay to be published. Agents are hard to find, but they make their money when they sell your books. Anyone that ask you to "pay $5000 and we'll put you in print" are called vanity presses. Save the money. with the internet you can make eBooks, your own website, and keep all the money in YOUR pocket.
