I'm 40% into this book and am waiting for something to happen. So far it's a long set up for introducing the characters and some people have magic powers. There's little action and if this is all there is to Celia's and Marco's duel, I'm ready to scrap it. Should I continue reading?

Based on your own perception of the book, do not continue reading it. Not worth it. I liked it though, but in my case "something to happen"is not necessarily a requirement for this type of novel. It is though for, say, crime books.
