Jeffrey Post asked:
Why do authors have a tendency to describe, specifically what each character is wearing? Reading the story is the point and it's like they take a mental break and enter the description, as if we can't read the story if they don't squeeze it in real fast? Is this an industry standard?
Lizabeth Tucker A long time ago, Mills & Boon used to tell their authors that they must appeal to all five senses within their books. All that does, in my opinion, is clog up an otherwise decent book with description.
