Christine Myres

I gave this 3 stars because I cannot follow the story ... there might be something wrong with my Kindle copy as it seems to jump around with no rhyme or reason. I will investigate, but meanwhile I quit about a third of the way in in frustration. Grrrrrr! Antone else?

JB I thought it was me! I'm about half way through and wondering who is that person? what? what's going on? I'll probably finish it but it's certainly not as good as the early ones.
Lisa It's not your Kindle copy! It reads like a few pages have been torn out here and there. Makes little sense, too much going on and no real connections between events and characters. I gave it one star.
Sarah I just finished it, not on Kindle, and I felt the same way. It seemed like every chapter was 3-4 pages long, and it jumped all over the place in location, and there were about 100 characters. It was a choppy mess. I'm going to give it 3 stars because I enjoyed the bits of humor in it, but overall the mystery was very disappointing.
Joyce This book is a choppy mess. I finished it but the ending was ridiculous, very disappointing after years of enjoying the Jury series.
Dena I'm late to respond- I just finished the audio version & went to see if I'd listened to an abridged version with pages chopped out- or if I'd lost too many brain cells to follow the plot & the characters. Thank you all for postponing my fears of early Alzheimers.
Elizabeth I believe that the story cannot be followed because there is no story.
Fred Svoboda I think that you're all correct about this. (See my three star review for details.) It takes a long time really to get going, and there are way too many characters to track early on. The book does improve a lot in the last third.
