I am currently working on a children's book about baseball and teamwork. The inspiration for the story came from my granddaughter, who was read a book titled "Matt's Mitt" by her father, Matthew. I read that same book to Matthew when he was a child. It was published in 1976 by the late Marilyn Sachs (a wonderful children's author). Sadly. "Matt's Mitt" is no longer in print.
Knowing her grandfather was a writer, Cora instantly figured her Pops could write a book for her about baseball. So, the lesson to be learned is "be careful what you promise a four year old". I am hoping to have the book, titled "Cora's Magical Pink Mitt" self-published by her sixth birthday in November 2022. My illustrator is a talented young artist, Maggie Jelly, who is currently majoring in Fine Arts at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. We'll see how it turns out.
