More of a comment than a question: I'm surprised there are not a hundred comments about this fascinating book! I loved how it kept upending my expectations, like when Libby says, "The only way to get someone to listen to a woman [is to] to tell her story through a man; Trojan horse yourself into a man, and people would give a shit about you" (236). I sat up and asked, "What is really going on here?"

Totally agree! I thought the whole thing was brilliant.

Susan, that is an interesting comment. I’m only 3 hours into the audiobook and am having a hard time. But I have thought, wait, everything Toby is claiming to have done, sacrificed his career, been the primary caregiver, is usually the woman’s story. So is he really that amazing, or is something else going on here? Now I’ll have to keep listening!

Exactly my reaction at that point. Except I'm with the seeming majority--not charmed. Left with a bad taste, unpleasant read.
