Ursula Rasmusson-Wright it might be better to read some of Lovecrafts short stories before. because it borrows heavily from them.
Amber Yes. There are certain tropes and characters that leak into the plot.
Casey Challender I found the Fear Institute entertaining and enjoyable without having read the first two books of the series. Reading the others first would be ideal, but it is not necessary.
