Goodreads asked Patricia D. Eddy:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Patricia D. Eddy I get most of my ideas from dreams. It might not be the actual idea, but a dream will spark something and I'll shape it into a plot. For In His Silks, the book started out as a totally different book. It was going to be a shorty story for one thing. But it was going to feature a desperate woman and an arrogant man who could get away with asserting his influence over her. But then I started to write it and Elizabeth got stronger and Alexander got kinder and then the book changed completely and turned into a novel.
