I would definitely describe this as a Young Adult novel. Hiaasen's outrageous humor and crazy Florida are there as his readers would expect. The main characters are 14-year-old high schoolers, and the target audience appears to be high schoolers as well. I would consider it to be appropriate at about 8th grade and beyond. The main plot events involve use and misuse social media and are mature, much more so than Hoot, Flush, or Chomp.
