Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Phil Semler I wanted to reimagine my childhood in Pacifica, CA and young obsessions with baseball, my inner world, family abuse. I also wanted to write about the condition of solipsism, which I think is a psychological problem with many of us finding it difficult to connect with reality. I was influenced by two books: I’m Keith Hernandez and A Fan’s Notes, which are about our fathers.
