Chelsea Fought There isn't really "magic" but there are paranormal aspects to Lizzy's story that you could argue are magic-ish... but definitely not "magic" in the traditional sense.
Kylie This books is basically two books in one. The first is about a young author moving to New York and making a name for herself, so no magic. But the second part is the books that she actually writes, which does have some elements of magic and paranormal situations.
Susan So there are two stories in one here - Darcy's story has no magic. She's a young writer moving to NYC to rewrite her first book. The book she's writing though? Lizzie's story - it involves moving back and forth between this world and the afterworld, seeing ghosts, etc. So no wand waving magic, but definitely supernatural stuff.
David I should probably through this question out there any time I am thinking of starting a new fantasy title. If a magic wand or anything like it appears without any self-reflexivity (word, or naw?) in a story, 9 out of 10 times that story's being put down.
