Sarah asked:

Just read the book. Blown away. Now which film should I watch? George Sanders, Dick Powell or Robert Mitchum?

Ana Cecilia Libros no he visto la de Sander yo me quedo con Mitchum aunque Powell esta muy bien
Sketchbook The Dick Powell movie is closer to the book, but Mitchum and Rampling are neat together in a somewhat different movie plot.
Jaime Fowler Mitchum is closer to Marlowe. Just my .02.
Fred Grogan The 1975 Mitchum movie is my fave. I think it gets the milieu right.
Cameo by Jim Thompson a bonus.
Michele Dick Powell version!
Tom Dailey Don't forget "The Big Lebowski!"
Chad The Dick Powell version is far and away the better of the two films. But Mitchum plays a better Marlowe. So it's your call.
Chrisanne Dick Powell was surprisingly good. Haven't seen the others.
