Doug asked John Hamilton:

You've used supernatural elements in your previous novels, but I was wondering what inspired you to set your newest one in the American West of the 1870s?

John Hamilton Hey Doug, good question. Living in Minnesota, I've spent quite a bit of time next door in South Dakota, specifically the Black Hills. Love the Deadwood area and all its history. Walking around Mt. Moriah Cemetery (the final resting place of Wild Bill Hickok) gave me the idea for "Ghost Marshal." Since Wild Bill was shot in 1876, that's when the story begins (the first of a planned trilogy).
