While some authors experience a block involving an outright wall between their urge to write and having something to write, my writer's block comes from a different source. Due to the time constraints in my life, my writer's block is more of a problem of too many ideas and too little time. I don't want to dash out poorly planned characters or narratives, so sometimes it's hard to keep a disciplined approach to story telling when I'm too anxious to put words together. When that happens I change focus and, rather than diving into the actual writing, I use the time to further plan my scenes. With that done, in my next writing period I can get right to business.
