Carl Koenemann

How do you think the book compares blockbuster movie?

Andersen Pickard It really depends how much you like baseball and the statistical/Bill James aspect. If you like digging deep into all this, the book is better. But if you like the info in a more simpler form, the movie is better.
Matt McKenzie I watched the movie first, and am now reading the book. I have to say,I enjoyed the movie better. As someone with no interest in baseball,I found the movie very easy to follow. The book poses a few more difficulties...
.
MaryGrace Dyleski i enjoyed the book more and agree that you have to like baseball to like the book - i managed my high school baseball team and when the coach asked me why i put a particular player in the leadoff position, i said, "he get's on base more than anyone else..."
Jeff Gingerich As usual, the book was better but the movie wasn't bad. Not sure Brad Pitt would have been my choice to play Billy Beane but they may have wanted his star power to sell the movie.
