I love the Ascendance Trilogy a ton! It is definitely at the top of my favorite pile, and I was just wondering, do you think you The Mark of the Thief is just as good? Could you maybe give out a general idea of what to expect? Thank you so much! It's incredible that you take the time to answer our questions!

Well, Olivia, I'm pretty biased on Mark of the Thief, but I really love the book. It has some differences from The Ascendance Trilogy, but I'm still the writer, so it will definitely feel like one of my stories. Nic has some traits in common with Sage, but also some of his own.
One of my favorite things about this story is how the magic affects Nic. It's so powerful, and he doesn't entirely understand what it is or know how to control it. And I love how he tries to get out of trouble!
I hope you will try MARK OF THE THIEF, and that you will love it too!

Hi! I am currently in the midst of writing something, but I wanted to add a little bit of me in there. Do you know if I am allowed to reference famous books or musicals (such as Hamilton perhaps?) without getting into some kind of trouble or if I had to get explicit permission? Sorry, I don't know if that made any sense or not... Oh and also, I am a huge fan of your work! Thank you for all that you do!

First off- you are my favorite author and your books are just on another level. As an aspiring writer, I have a few questions- i)How to describe the appearance of the narrator in a first person narrated story? ii)How to have the will to actually write a whole book? I worked on a book and have written about 50 pages and I am not able to write as good as I would want to even though I have the whole story planned.

Why did you chose the name Sage for your protagonist in the Ascendance Trilogy?
