What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Peter Guzzardi I'm still new at this, since as of this writing I'm still several weeks shy of publication. So far the best thing is that I feel inspired to connect with other people--friends, strangers, fellow writers, media folk, readers--in a way that I never have before. I have a feeling the process of being published is going to stretch me in all sorts of good ways, although I expect it won't always be comfortable.
