If there had been conflict, rebellion, clones demanding their rights or anything of the sort, an apt title for the book would be "Let Me Go" instead of "Never Let Me Go" >-<

That wasn't really the point of the book. I feel this is a problem with it being classed as 'science fiction' because it isn't really. Like a lot of the author's books, it's about death, regret, and severely constrained social circumstance.
