Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Well, I have worked in the field of Information Technology for quite a few years so it was partly a product of my background. But one day, my wife (she was a software engineer) and I are driving across town and we're talking about smartphone technology and various apps. We were bouncing ideas between us on how to solve a particular hypothetical situation with an existing service that was available via an app. When we got into talking about what data would be necessary and how it might be used that's when all these paranoid possibilities started popping into my head. After a few minutes of saying "what if this" and "what if that", I had the story concept. Then a year later I had a first draft.
