It's really rare. I don't often encounter writers block, more of an issue for me is how to stop and edit! But when those rare occasions come that I am struggling, I write. A sentence, a phrase, some dialogue. I just put pen to paper, any scrap of paper. Some good stuff comes from that, and maybe you can use it later.
