While I was working my way through college at UCLA in the late 60s I had several memorable experiences that I promised myself one day I would turn into a novel. For over twenty years I worked out the details of the novel in my mind but never found the time to actually write it out. In the late 90's a romance writer retained me to handle a legal matter and out of curiosity I asked her about her career. She patiently answered my questions and demystified the publishing business for me. It was a difficult time in my life and I needed a distraction from the stress of law practice, so one day I sat down and started writing. To my great shock the words that had been bottled up in me for all those years just flowed out and within a few weeks I had the first draft of my first novel. Once I got started I loved writing so much I couldn't quit.
