Goodreads asked Dusty Dionne:

How do you get inspired to write?

Dusty Dionne I have been writing for as long as I can remember. I started reading at 4 years old, and by 5 I had read my first novel, by 6 I was writing poetry, and by 8 I was published in my first publication (a scholastic multi-school submission publication) I have always had stories in my heart that really really want to be told, and it has been an ability I have been blessed to have since much earlier than most people. I once got a 'C-' on a story I wrote that the only rule was "It must start with the sentence 'It was just an old couch, sitting on the side of the road'". I wrote a horror story about a 1930's House Call Doctor that scared my teacher so terribly, that she gave me the lowest passing grade she could. My question: If a horror story scares you that badly, shouldn't it be worth an 'A'?
