Jill Hand asked:
There was a nineteenth-century English lady named Annie Besant, who was into such varied activities as becoming a follower of Madame Blavatsky, and advocating for the rights of match-girls, and establishing schools in India, but I couldn't find any mention of the interesting fellow with the last name of Besant in your book. Was he her brother or something, or was he entirely fictional?
This answer contains spoilers… (view spoiler)[Hello Jill. Good question! He was entirely fictional. I was aware of Annie though - and I'm pretty sure I've read one of her books on mediumship or psychic abilities or some such. I'm afraid the Beasant (different spelling) in my book is entirely invented, however. Thank you though! Have a wonderful weekend. xx (hide spoiler)]
