I don't think it's boring, although obviously tastes vary. To be fair I think Mike Carey is a brilliant author who writes multi-layerd novels with rich characters and situations.
The book itself is a post-apocalyptic novel following a young gifted girl who, to all intents and purposes, is a zombie. It isn't particularly "sweet" but it is touching and engaging.
