Goodreads asked David Gibbs:

How do you get inspired to write?

David Gibbs Writing to me is a necessary outlet. If I don't get the chance to write on a particular day I feel on edge. When I'm full in the moment of writing, it honestly feels like it pours through me in a torrent, my fingers barely able to keep up with the words. Inspiration comes in a variety of ways and usually when I least expect it.

It might just be the name of a character or town, or it might be something my children tell me about or it could be be a line a character says. I don't entirely understand why certain things inspire me to have to write about it why others don't. But I keep an idea file which has now grown to close to forty pages so I can note down the ideas before I forget them.
