Irene Kim asked:

Don't you find it weird that being Divergent isn't one of Tris's fears? I mean, if I was told that I'm Divergent and that people are trying to kill me, I'd be really afraid.

Neil Shuker-harris That's the point. Divergent's process fear in a different way. It requires empathy with the character to perhaps understand this.
There is a classic piece from Frank Herbet's Dune, (goodread BTW)

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

I feel this epitomises the Divergent's attitude to fear.
