Goodreads asked J.C. Horton:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

J.C. Horton I'm going to give the simple answer here, but if you would like to read more please go to my blog. You will always offend someone so write what you want to and pretend the haters don't exist. Write what you know. Use your own experiences for your writing, and it's okay to write tough stuff that nobody else is talking about. And this is the biggest one in my mind: it's okay to make mistakes. All books have mistakes. Edit as much as you can, but don't let editing become your life.
