Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Shauna Kelley So often, we read about characters who are becoming something paranormal, but didn't know they would, like Clary being a Shadowhunter in the Mortal Instruments, or Bella Swan not knowing she was a shield in Twilight. I love that concept, and wanted to take it a step farther... what if someone knew she was not human, but couldn't figure out what she was?
