Why do alternate chapters have different use of upper and lower case?

Roz Gibson In my edition of the book Levithan says that he used the lower case in his chapters because will 'is a lowercase person. His whole self image is what he projects in that space, and his one comfortable form of communication is when he's anonymous and sending instant messages.'

Saf Just so it shows the different Will Graysons' chapters and the authors' chapters they've written.
Paiton Robey Levithan says at the end of the book in the questions to the authors section, that the charcter Will grayson he wrote about uses lowercase letters, becuase he doesnt see himself or others as uppercase, and just wrote how he feels
Mikayla Basham so you can tell which will garyson is which, the odd chapters are the first will, and the even chapters are the other will.
