Love Cat Clarke she is one of my favourites (if not my favourite author). however, I take issue with the plot of this book. Why did the student need to be transgender to take issue with their sexist school dress code? Couldn't a female student not want to wear a skirt without believing shes a boy inside? Seems to be fighting sexism with sexism. No issue with a story about a trans kid but this specific plot?

Liv took action because his discomfort in skirts (in his case, due to him being trans) led to him realizing that the rule was unfair to everyone, and fighting not for his right to wear pants, but for EVERYONE.(less)
