No. I agree with Christine, older teens may like it but it would be too slow for younger kids. Also, the main character is a thief and the book details how he is successful at it. Not something kids should emulate.

The book has almost nothing a young reader (under the age of 16) could readily relate to. It does have instances completely inappropriate for an adolescent. The frequency where inuendo and implied meaning factors into the character's thought process (OCD, relationship with parents, interpersonal adult relationships) require a reader with certain life experiences a preteen or young teen would not yet have.

Not very young, no. I'd say YA (older teens) and up. It's been too long for me to remember the details, but I think there are a few parts that delve into adult territory.
