Inspiration can take many forms but my series was initially inspired by my stay in Greece. It then took me another thirty years before I sat down to write the book!!! Nowadays, inspiration can come from a song lyric, a character on television, something I'm reading, you name it and it's a potential source of inspiration. That's why I always keep a notebook and pen close by as otherise it will be gone as quicky as it came.
