Goodreads asked Rick Marchetti:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Rick Marchetti My advice for aspiring writers is.....wait for it: WRITE!!! The only way to go from 'aspiring writer' to 'writer' is to do it. It's very easy to let Life get in the way of writing; you have a job, and kids, and a spouse, and bills to pay, and grocery shopping, get where I'm going. You HAVE TO (not TRY to) make time to write. Every day. Even on the days when you don't feel like it, or you don't think you have anything to write about. Just write. Don't let anything keep you from writing, even if it's only for a half hour a day. If you're stuck on your version of 'The Great American Novel', write a short story, or a poem, or a journal entry. The best advice I have for aspiring writers really is that simple. WRITE!
