Goodreads asked Josephine Dillon:

How do you get inspired to write?

Josephine Dillon I've had this story for decades and created it as a teenager, so one day, I just decided to write a paragraph. That led to a few more paragraphs, and six months later, I had the first book done. It snowballed from there. I write for fun though. I am a registered nurse by trade, so I don't ever need to rely on my writing to pay the bills. I think that has freed me to be the kind of writer I've always wanted to be: completely independent, free spirited, and able (and willing) to write what scares me a little. I like to be uncomfortable about the subject matter I'm writing about, because if we as writers, limit ourselves by writing what is safe, we'll never chart new paths or push ourselves to achieve more. I want to leave readers either loving or hating my books, because that means they were affected, whether they want to be or not, by my characters - the good and the evil - in a way that is hopefully personal.
