How do you come up with such original plot ideas, and how long did it take you to write Gated?

Amy Christine Parker Hi Tessa! My ideas come from literally everywhere, but most times from something I've read that is true that gets me thinking "what if". The idea for GATED came from a documentary about underground doomsday shelters and the idea for the book I'm working on now came from a news article about a family of bank robbers. Usually my mind sort of catches on something interesting and then starts building from there.
