Sharadhi Jaganath asked Kelly Bowen:

Hello Ms. Bowen, I am an ardent admirer of your work. There has been quite a bit of speculation about whether a book will be written about King. What I am curious to know is how you plan to justify him almost selling Beatrice off to the highest bidder? As a reader, I can excuse a character's behavior on several occasions - but I draw the line at sex trade.

Kelly Bowen Excellent question! I too, draw the line at sex trade. In Duke of My Heart, the character of King appears to be shocked to discover who Beatrice really is - but given the competency of his far-reaching information webs and his need to control situations, this could have been part of his scheming all along when it came to Ivory and her duke (I'm trying not to give too much away here!). King is not a 'nice' character (cold and mercenary, even) - a product of his past. But is loyal to those he feels he is in debt to or even those whom he feels are allies. The heroine I give him will need to understand that - because she just might be cut from the same cloth.
