I'm 14 years old and i loved the book. Just because it has mature stuff in it doesn't mean a 14 year old doesn't know about it. Teenagers know a lot more than you think.

I think it's a bit mature for a 14-year-old, but obviously it depends on what you're comfortable with her reading. There are mentions of drugs, drinking, sex, and suicide, so I'd say it's definitely a read with caution. It is a great book though, so maybe read it through and see if you think it would be ok for her.

The author's purpose of this book is NOT to shelter kids from depression and mental health. The MC didn't know who to reach out to for help. This book is very important and sheltering a kid from "mature/dark content" leads to this.

It might be a little too serious, and perhaps slightly too mature, but it really depends on how mature the reader is. Mature thirteen year olds could read this as well, but it's a bit "iffy" as in how they'd interpret it.
