Goodreads asked Patricia Balentine:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Patricia Balentine The creativity of it is like when you played pretend as a child. It lets you escape into wherever your mind can take you. Having someone else appreciate what you've written is also a thrill. The ability to make someone react to your characters as if they were real is awesome. When people actually discuss these people with you, it means that you have done your job of taking them into another world outside of their own worries and problems.
