Dawn Stowell Some people have access to ARC (Advance Reader's Copy) or something similar. This is when publishers make available copies available ahead of the release date of their books as part of a PR (public relations) move to promote sales of their books by taking a chance that the book they are offering will garner more good reviews than bad and in doing so will encourage more sales of the book.

Mike Warble Waters is a British author. Make sure to always know the nationality of the author for release dates. Hence, Waters first edition of this book is usually released in England before it is released in the U.S.

Shelley Diamond In August, I asked my local bookstore if they had this book. They said it was not available yet, but that they had a copy in galley proof stage and just gave me it to me. They said no one else at the store wanted to read it and that they had agreed to just give it to anyone who wanted it.

GeneralTHC Sept.16 is the US release date. It's been available online since August.

Suncoast I received an advanced copy from the publisher, Virago UK. As far as I know the publication date is 16 September in the US but it was released in the UK and Australia (my country) on 28 August and almost immediately got to number three on the Sunday Times bestseller list.
