Goodreads asked Tamsen Schultz:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Tamsen Schultz It sounds cliché, but the best advice I can give is to just write. That said, my second bit of advice is to finish something, anything. I can’t tell you how many starts I had to various stories and then at some point, it would get hard and I would think I can’t, or shouldn’t, finish. And sometimes I would even get bored with my own stuff and stop. But what I have learned is that even if it sucks and I hate it, I started the story for a reason and so there must be something redeeming about it. If I just finish it, I can usually find what that thing was that made me want to start. And that’s where the real fun begins. (And not to mention, you get the satisfaction of knowing you finished something you started. Yes, I am a type-A personality.)
