Goodreads asked Michael Napper:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Michael Napper Well, I think this answer will apply more to "how I deal with painter's block" as at present I'm more involved with painting and photography than with writing or the making of books. But I think it is applicable to writing as well. One just has to sit down (or stand up) and get going. Clean brushes, do paint sample charts, do a drawing exercise, anything to get the mind and the muscles going in that direction.
Same with writing...go sit in a cafe and observe the customers, write up little vignettes of their lives, fantasize and write about what would happen if, say, some historical figure walked in, like Rimbaud sauntering into a Starbucks.
