What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Ariane Arborene When I first started publishing in 2010, I think I would have said that the best thing about being a writer was to simply accomplish the thing -- to write and have someone read what I had written. A reader gives her or his time over to the author, and it's an honor, really, when anyone reads something you have written. Also, when I first started, I'll be honest -- the income was on my mind, as well. However, it is now 2016, and I've been writing for over six years now, and have an answer that is a bit more complex. Now, the thing I like best about being a writer is having a platform. When something strikes me as sexy, or a life experience keeps resonating with me and I want to take it beyond what it is, or I see a sexy image, or a photo that stirs my erotic imagination, I am happy I have a place to go with it, outward into the world, as a writer.
