Goodreads asked Stanley Arthur Riggs:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Stanley Arthur Riggs When I was young, my parents put a framed quotation on the wall of my bedroom. I often read it, but it wasn't until later in life that I came to really appreciate the message.
Press On
“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On!’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” - President Calvin Coolidge
Remember, there are many writers who are unpublished; just like there are some published authors who are not really writers...myself included.
