Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Sparrow Spaulding I had no idea I was going to write a memoir. Being a therapist I always thought I'd write a self-help book. One Father's Day a few years back I was having a rough day thinking about my own dad and so I wrote an essay. It was raw and full of emotion. A few months later I realized I needed to write my story. When I sat down it was almost like the book wrote itself. It was gut-wrenching and one of the toughest things I've ever done.
