Goodreads asked J.C. Cassels:

How do you get inspired to write?

J.C. Cassels I get inspired to write by listening. I'm the quiet person in any group, listening to people tell stories, share confidences, even complaining about perceived injustices.

I also listen to music. I've come away from live concerts on a creative high, feeding off the energy of the crowd and the excitement of the show. I also get inspired by visual images, book covers, movies, art, photography.

Being outside also inspires me. I like the quiet of the beach or the woods where I can immerse myself in the sights, sounds, smells of the great outdoors. Taking the time to simply shut off my brain and BE is the greatest inspiration of all.
